The distance from the storage tank to the dike: a new issue for veteran revolutionaries

In the past, dikes were installed within tank areas in accordance with petrochemical regulations, based on the medium stored in the tanks and their volume. Later, the Safety Supervision Bureau introduced a requirement of having a separate dike for each tank; a dike was sufficient, and there was no specified distance required between the storage tanks and such dikes. In particular, in the older tank areas, dikes were installed haphazardly. For a certain project, the acid and alkali tanks are placed together, with a distance of less than 2 meters to the dike – is that acceptable?
I understand that for retaining walls, capacity is the main consideration; as long as the height is sufficient. Generally, materials used for alkali tanks are not resistant to acids, while those used for acid tanks are not resistant to alkalis. The maximum splash distance for tanks under normal pressure is half of the tank’s height; the spacing between acid and alkali tanks should ideally be determined based on this value. If anti-corrosion treatment is applied, the spacing can be smaller as long as it does not affect operational access.
There are requirements, I recall that the spacing between tanks is required to be 0.75D.
