On April 8, 2021, the \"2021 National Petrochemical Digital Tank Farm Summit Forum and the Third National Conference on Measurement Control and Safety Management Technologies for Petrochemical Storage and Transportation Tank Farms\" was grandly held at the Tianshan International Convention Center in Tianjin! As an industry that is crucial for **strategic interests and people’s livelihoods, oil and gas has always received significant attention. Since the reform and opening up, the production capacity of the refining and petrochemical industries has risen to the forefront in the world. As a very important link in the petrochemical industry that connects upstream and downstream sectors as well as various production stages, tank farms play a crucial role in production, transportation, sales, and import/export processes. According to incomplete statistics, as of 2020, strategic oil reserves amounted to 85 million tons, while LNG storage capacity reached 37.8 billion cubic meters. Ports were equipped with 9,798 storage tanks with a total capacity of 96.23 million cubic meters; there were also 149,000 mobile storage tank vehicles. The number of various other oil tanks, chemical tanks, and transfer tanks is countless. The huge scale of this industry ensures the sustainable development of China’s petrochemical sector as well as **strategic security, while also giving rise to various technical requirements. Through the conference platform, in-depth discussions are held on the complex issues related to storage and transportation tank areas in the petrochemical industry; technical problems of concern to various organizations are exchanged, collaborative innovation services are further enhanced, and robust support services for driving innovation are provided. Industry leaders such as Dong Hairong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Automation Society, and Kim Yong, President of the Chemical Distribution Association Branch, delivered speeches at this conference. During the conference, well-known domestic experts such as Yan Hui, Ye Xiangdong, Lin Hongjun, Wang Jinliang, Wang Linyuan, Fan Yongfeng, Feng Shuanghu, and Du Liangpo delivered presentations on topics including the automated design of tank farms, safety risk management, measurement technologies, and other relevant issues. The content of these presentations was highly informative, offering comprehensive insights and analyses from various perspectives on the relevant standards and technical solutions for tank farms. Nuoying Jiaye was invited to participate in this forum, where it joined experts from the industry to discuss and exchange knowledge and skills related to the application of instrumentation technology in this field.
