The Chinese Chemical Society elects 43 new fellows On March 4, the Chinese Chemical Society announced the list of fellows appointed for 2024; 43 scholars in the field of chemistry from 35 domestic universities and research institutions, including Chen Fen’er from Fudan University, Tan Tianwei from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and Xiong Rengen from Southeast University, were elected. In accordance with the Regulations on Fellows of the Chinese Chemical Society, through procedures such as nominations by fellow members, review by the Fellows Working Committee, and voting by the Executive Council, 28 fellows were selected for the year 2024 by the Chinese Chemical Society. Meanwhile, in accordance with the resolution of the 31st Executive Council of the Chinese Chemical Society, the Fellows Working Committee identified the list of academicians and foreign academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering in the fields of chemistry and related areas who were not on the list of fellows, and invitations were sent to them. Following a vote by the Executive Council, 15 individuals were approved as fellows, bringing the total number of fellows promoted in 2024 to 43. Since 2019, the Chinese Chemical Society has established a fellowship system, which represents the highest rank within its membership structure. It is awarded to outstanding members who have made systematic and creative achievements as well as significant contributions in the field of chemistry and related areas, and who have played an important role in the development and progress of this discipline. According to the Regulations on Fellows of the Chinese Chemical Society, the society elects no more than 50 new fellows each year. To date, there are 296 fellows of the Chinese Chemical Society.
