On May 14th, construction officially began on the new flare line for the flare facility associated with Jiujiang Petrochemical’s 890,000 tons per year aromatic compounds processing system, which was supervised by the company. The main construction tasks for this project include laying the flare pipeline and gas pipeline systems. The flare pipeline has a diameter of 1.3 meters and a length of 1,415 meters; it is laid on the top layer of the existing pipe racks, at a working height of nearly 20 meters. It passes through six operational areas and crosses Qinhu Avenue, a busy urban highway, resulting in a complex surrounding environment that makes management challenging. In light of the actual conditions of the project and to ensure its smooth commencement, Wang Shunbang, the company’s senior executive and chief project engineer, along with all the project supervisors, first organized regular project coordination meetings. These meetings were held to urge the teams responsible for safety, processes, welding, civil engineering, and electrical instrumentation to get in touch with the construction contractors in advance and make the necessary preparations for construction. Secondly, in order to address the risks and potential hazards associated with working at heights on existing pipe racks as well as carrying out construction while the systems are in operation, corresponding safety control measures are established to ensure their full implementation. Third, it is necessary to ensure good quality control: engineers from various specialties should be stationed on site to address issues directly, carefully examine the qualifications of construction workers and the construction plans, actively participate in safety and technical briefings provided by the construction units, verify each material submitted for inspection, and carry out on-site supervision for tasks such as valve testing. Next, taking the themed activity of \"studying the history of the Party, understanding its theories, taking practical actions, and opening up new prospects\" as an opportunity, the supervision department of the Jiujiang Petrochemical Project will continue to uphold the service philosophy of \"solving problems for the project owner and ensuring the smooth progress of the project.\" It will fully implement the requirements related to the thorough investigation and rectification of safety risks, work diligently and with determination, and ensure that all supervision tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
