In my production process, there is wastewater with a temperature of 100°C and a flow rate of 5 tons per hour; it contains impurities and cannot be used directly in boilers. I would like to utilize this waste heat to reduce the temperature of the wastewater to 40°C, thereby making use of the waste heat while also meeting the requirement that the wastewater temperature should not exceed 40°C for water treatment purposes. I want to heat pure water using a heat exchanger. Which type of heat exchanger would be suitable? Please suggest a solution
Either a jacketed or sleeve type should work
My plan is to use wastewater inside the pipes and pure water outside them.
Wastewater contains impurities, so it’s not good to pass it through pipes. Check the impurity characteristics.
Wastewater pipes are easy to clean of scale.
Shell-and-tube or jacket type – these two are not prone to clogging. Wastewater pipes are easy to clean
