For a reaction vessel with stirring, temperature control, and pressure control, and in the case of crystals present, what type of level gauge is suitable?
Can a radar level gauge be used in the presence of stirring disturbances, as well as temperature and moisture?
Radar level gauges are not recommended when there is water vapor present. Our facility has mixing tanks, and vacuum equipment is used to remove water from the contents of these tanks; the water is removed through heating and vacuum, via gas pipelines, followed by condensation. Water vapor can accumulate on radar level gauges, and this condensation can lead to false readings and subsequent shutdowns of the equipment. The stirrer tank involved is planned to be replaced with a differential pressure level gauge. There are also workshops that use solvents or nitrogen inside the tank to run DN15 pipelines for blowing liquid levels or for inspection purposes, which can help avoid false readings to some extent.
If there is no good solution on the equipment, it is resolved through management. Conventional disk-type level gauges often drain liquid to prevent blockages
Radar works well; the selection is very important, as there are many types of radar available. However, stirring causes disturbances to the liquid level, and the radar is quite sensitive; therefore, some filtering may be necessary.
A bypass pipe can be used, and guided-wave radar can be employed for measurement; the bypass pipe must be properly insulated, and a drain valve should be installed at its bottom
Level gauges used with equipment that has agitators may not perform optimally; direct viewing through the sight glass is the most common approach.
Isotopes are the best, but subject to safety restrictions. For the rest, it can only be said that considerations must be based on specific conditions, as temperature, pressure, the properties of solid substances, and the method of stirring all vary.
