I would like to ask the experts: At LPG storage and distribution stations, the storage tanks are buried underground, while the hydrocarbon pumps are installed above ground level. I’m wondering if anyone among you who is familiar with on-site operations and procedures can help me understand this: how is it ensured that the pipeline in front of the hydrocarbon pump is always filled with liquid every time the pump is started up for filling?
I think there is a section of vent pipe for replacement
There is pressure at the pump inlet, and this pressure is equal to the pressure inside the tank; however, there may be a gas phase present, in which case it is difficult to start the pump.
