Hello, everyone. I’ve run into a problem recently: can the platinum resistor with a protective tube, as shown in the image, come into direct contact with the medium, or is it necessary to use a sleeve?
In most cases, platinum resistors with protective tubes cannot come into direct contact with the medium; a sleeve must be used to protect them. The reason is that the material of the protective tube is usually not corrosion-resistant or unsuitable for contact with the medium; direct contact with the medium can cause the protective tube to corrode or be damaged, thereby affecting the measurement accuracy and service life of the platinum resistor. Therefore, if you need to use a platinum resistor with a protective tube for medium measurement, you should choose a material suitable for the medium to make the sleeve, and ensure that the connection between the protective tube and the sleeve is tightly sealed to prevent the medium from penetrating into the protective tube. .
