Benchmarking? It is more meaningful to find comparison data on specific consumption for industries and processes that are similar. The main cost associated with recycled water is electricity consumption; aside from being related to the choice of equipment, it is also influenced by the price per unit of electricity, the cooling range, wet-bulb temperature, load, outlet pressure, and pipe losses. The cost of chilled water is directly related to the process used; bromine chillers (which have an advantage when there is waste steam available), chiller units, and ammonia compression refrigeration all result in different costs.
