““The other side” usually refers to the outlet end of the valve, that is, the side behind the valve. Therefore, if the blind plate is installed on the other side of the valve that controls the flow of material, it should be placed at the outlet end of the valve or downstream of the valve. However, the specific details may vary depending on the actual engineering design and operational requirements; it is best to have professional engineers or operators determine the exact installation location. .
First, it is necessary to understand the reasons for installing blind plates and their feasibility. For example, blind plates are installed to prevent internal leakage in valves; or in cases where accidents might occur due to accidental opening of the valves, blind plates are necessary. Regarding feasibility, if the inlet side of the valve cannot handle the load and the valve needs to be maintained or replaced, other solutions must be considered, such as adding an additional valve or a blind flange downstream of the valve. If the valve is functioning properly and does not require maintenance, repair, or replacement, a blind flange can be installed behind it. As for “the other side of the valve where the material comes from,” it should refer to the area behind the valve. In other words, the material enters on the side in front of the valve, while the other side is behind the valve. This is my personal understanding for reference only.
It’s easy to understand that the flange and blind plate can only be removed after pressure is released, but describing it in writing is tricky!
A blind flange can be considered an enhancement to a valve, providing a more reliable form of isolation.
On the device side, close the valve to isolate the device. It does not affect the operation of the external piping of the device.
If it is installed at the front end of the incoming material valve, how is it installed and removed? If the medium in the pipeline ahead of the valve is completely replaced, then what’s the need for a blind flange?
