I have a gentle question: how is the energy consumption of petrochemical plants calculated? For example, if a vacuum distillation unit processes 8,000 tons of crude oil per day, it consumes 2,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity and 100 tons of steam. I saw in some materials that there are conversion factors, such as 0.228 for electricity and 76 for steam. What do these conversion factors mean? How to calculate energy consumption?
