Your participation in the discussion serves as the greatest motivation. ********************** [Ten Years of Great Development in Chemical Equipment] This is a continuously updated compilation post; all are welcome to join the discussion: https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-3576046-1-1.html (Source: Haichuan Chemical Engineering Forum) ***************** On November 28, 2024, Baotou Chemical received from its parent company a document issued jointly by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the **National Energy Administration, titled “List of First Batch of Projects under the Program for Promoting the Application of Scientific and Technological Achievements by Central Enterprises.” The project proposed by Baotou Chemical—the “ domestically developed full-process production line for producing one million tons of olefins from coal”—was the only project selected under the **Energy Group, signifying that the Baotou Coal-to-Olefins Upgrading Demonstration Project has gained authoritative recognition from ** authorities in terms of the application of technological innovations and industrial demonstration. The Baotou coal-to-olefins upgrading demonstration project is an upgraded demonstration facility built on the basis of **Energy Group’s world’s first coal-to-olefins demonstration plant in operation; it has been included in the planning projects outlined in the \"Plan for the Innovative Development of the Modern Coal Chemical Industry\" issued by the **National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The project relies on the first-phase factory for innovative upgrades, systematically applying its own technological innovations, thereby increasing the methanol production capacity from 1.8 million tons per year to 3.8 million tons per year, and the polyolefin production capacity from 600,000 tons per year to 1.35 million tons per year. The project mainly involves the construction of 1 set of air separation unit with a capacity of 2×105,000 standard cubic meters per hour, 1 set of powder coal gasification unit with a capacity of 550,000 standard cubic meters per hour (of effective gas), along with associated purification and desulfurization facilities; 1 set of methanol production plant with an annual capacity of 2 million tons; 1 set of methanol-to-olefins and olefin separation plant with an annual capacity of 750,000 tons; 1 set of polyethylene production plant with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons; 1 set of polypropylene production plant with an annual capacity of 350,000 tons, as well as associated utility and auxiliary facilities. To break the long-term monopoly of foreign-related technologies and equipment and enhance the degree of autonomy and control over the industrial chain, the project will carry out demonstrations of the localization of patent technologies throughout the entire process, aiming to raise the proportion of domestically produced equipment to over 98%. By planning in conjunction with the development of new energy sources, it will achieve deep integration between coal chemical industry and green electricity, green hydrogen, and green oxygen, thereby driving the high-end, diversified, and low-carbon development of the modern coal chemical industry. The company will further refine the project implementation plan, strengthen collaboration with various innovation entities, continuously drive technological advancements and process innovations, attract resources from throughout the industrial chain, accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into practical productive forces, and provide new impetus for achieving full domestic autonomy and control in the coal-to-olefins industry as well as for developing new forms of productive capacity. It will also make positive contributions to the energy security strategy.
