The project on SCR denitration of flue gas from ethylene cracking furnaces has passed the acceptance review. Recently, the \"Development of SCR denitration catalysts and related process technologies for flue gas from ethylene cracking furnaces\", developed by Lanzhou Chemical Industry Research Center, passed the acceptance assessment organized by the Technology Management Department of China National Petroleum Corporation. This project is led by the Lanzhou Chemical Research Center of the Petroleum and Chemical Research Institute, with Global Engineering Company, Dushanzi Petrochemical Company, and Lanzhou Petrochemical Company participating in its implementation. The project developed a highly active denitration catalyst with excellent water resistance, as well as supporting technologies such as sealed catalyst bed arrangements and flow field monitoring and optimization. The complete set of technologies thus created was applied in demonstration projects such as the Urumqi Petrochemical’s ethane-to-ethylene production facility and the Guangdong Petrochemical’s ethane-to-ethylene production facility; its performance was superior to that of catalysts from foreign brands, earning it the reputation of being the \"green shield\" for these demonstration ethylene production projects. The outcomes of this project will help to further expand the applicability of denitration technology, increasing its use in downstream chemical industries such as units for styrene and propane dehydrogenation. In the future, Lanzhou Chemical Research Center will continue to enhance its capabilities in scientific research, development, and practical application, so that the “Green Shield” technology can provide long-term support for the transformation and upgrading of CNPC’s refining operations.
