It consumes around 50 tons of reeds, straw, and other raw materials per day, producing approximately 10 tons of polylactic acid and lignin. This production line was invested in and built by Hubei Shouding Industrial Co., Ltd. Its independently developed production technology is at the international leading level, successfully filling the gap in non-grain bioplastics. Sang Tao, chairman of Shanghai Hanhe Bio-New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. and Hubei Shouding Industrial Co., Ltd., explained that the company utilizes an independently developed biomanufacturing technology system based on non-grain raw materials. This system involves using specific strains to break down cellulose and hemicellulose in reeds into sugars, which are then fermented to produce lactic acid monomers. Finally, through original polymerization techniques, polylactic acid, or bioplastics, is synthesized. At present, the polylactic acid particles produced by this company meet all the required performance standards, and can be widely used in various applications such as meal containers, straws, disposable plastic packaging, agricultural plastic films, and garbage bags.
