Over the past few days, the world’s first pilot-scale megawatt-class air thermodynamic cycle energy storage (CASE) system project in Qingshan Industrial Park, Luliang County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province – which is under the general contracting of Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. – has been in intensive testing phase, with efforts being made at full speed as if on a countdown. At the project site, the project team’s commissioning team is carrying out various tests in collaboration with the client and the main equipment suppliers, to complete the final stages of work. At present, the overall construction of this project has been completed, and it has officially entered the critical phase prior to joint debugging. It is understood that this project is a new type of high-power, long-duration energy storage technology developed to meet the large-scale storage demands associated with the construction of a new power system under the \"dual carbon\" goals. As the general contractor, Beiyou Engineering strictly controls the quality of the project, and successfully implements the technical solution that converts electrical energy into heat and cold energy, storing them using molten salt and antifreeze. This system achieves zero carbon emissions through physical energy storage technology, providing crucial support for reducing energy waste and facilitating a low-carbon transition.
