(hereinafter referred to as Shenma), granting it the right to use Evonik’s hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) production technology to build a super-large hydrogen peroxide plant in Pingdingshan City, Henan Province, with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons. The hydrogen peroxide produced at the new factory will be supplied exclusively to Shenma for use in the production of caprolactam, an important monomer material for nylon 6. The signing ceremony was held in Pingdingshan on March 5, 2025, and the factory is expected to begin operations in 2026. Shenma holds an important position in China’s fiber industry, with its production capabilities covering the entire value chain for nylon 6 and nylon 66. The company plans to increase its annual capacity for caprolactam to 600,000 tons by 2026. By synchronously upgrading its hydrogen peroxide production technology and capacity, Shenma will further ensure the supply security and product quality for caprolactam production. Choosing Evonik’s fluidized bed technology will enable Shenma to meet the latest and strictest **process safety requirements** for hydrogen peroxide production.
