Dear colleagues, we’re currently facing a problem. In our process, there’s a vacuum distillation step for solvent removal. However, this step takes too much time—while other companies in the same industry only need 5–6 hours, we require 8–10 hours. Are there any critical factors that might be contributing to this? We’ve checked the vacuum level, and it seems to be fine
Look for differences in the details: pipe diameter, pumping speed, measurement points, material temperature, etc
There is stirring, and it is controlled via variable frequency
The operational parameters I learned about are basically the same as those used by other manufacturers in the same industry, so it seems quite strange
Is the jar bigger than others? Poor heat transfer?
The kettles are the same as those used by others, including the mixing mechanism; the heat source is turned off once a fixed temperature is reached. For others, when the distillation reaches its endpoint, it can be determined by observing through the sight glass that no more liquid is flowing, but we still need to continue pumping for another hour or two
Shouldn’t there be a control valve on the heat transfer tube to regulate the temperature of the tank?
Is the temperature and flow rate of the hot water the same as in other households? Could it be that the flow rate of hot water at your place is insufficient, resulting in poor heating?
Change the mixing method to mainly flipping
