Jacket end plate thickness

Has anyone with experience in manufacturing jacketed vessels? I have a question: how should the thickness of the end plates of the jacket be determined? We chose a thickness that corresponded to that of the flanges on the pipes, and it’s quite thick. I’m not sure if there is a more appropriate approach; if you know anything about this, please let me know
May I ask the original poster, how was the thickness of the end plate of the jacket tube determined later on? Is it necessary to perform strength calculations and stress calculations for the end plates?
