Before a newly built chemical plant is put into operation, some of the equipment or pipelines within it are cleaned, and this cleaning process is divided into physical cleaning and chemical cleaning. Chemical cleaning is performed for applications with high requirements regarding system cleanliness, where impurities can cause significant damage to system operation. How is it determined which systems require chemical cleaning, and what standards or experience are used as a basis?
This issue is indeed crucial; the choice of chemical cleaning directly affects the safe operation of the equipment. Based on my experience, the following aspects are primarily considered: Medium properties: Systems that transport high-purity materials (such as electronic-grade chemicals) or media prone to scaling usually require chemical cleaning; the classification requirements in HG/T 2387-2007 \"Quality Standards for Chemical Cleaning of Industrial Equipment\" can be referred to. Equipment structure: For equipment with complex structures such as heat exchangers and precision filters, physical cleaning is difficult to achieve thorough results; it is recommended to combine it with chemical cleaning. In our project, we also perform passivation on stainless steel pipes. Specifically, one can check the cleaning level requirements in the design documents; the standards vary depending on the process package. It is recommended to consult the supplier of the process package for your unit for more accurate information~
Yes, at present our regulations only impose strict cleaning requirements on high-pressure steam boilers and industrial circulating water systems; Nothing else was explained. It’s all between suggestions and what can be done versus what cannot.
