Everyone pays attention to safety and everyone will investigate and rectify potential risks in an emergency. -------------------------------------------------- Recently, Hanwha Azdel, a Korean composite material supplier, launched a new product SuperLite S25. This thermoplastic composite material is based on polypropylene and long-cut fibers, with a considerable proportion of recycled materials. In its reinforced core layer, post-consumer recycled polypropylene (PCR) accounts for 25% by weight, and the recycled polypropylene content in the resin system is approximately 50%. The company also plans to fully switch to 100% recycled glass fiber for this composite material. The composite material has a glass fiber addition ratio of 55% and adopts a sandwich structure design: the back is matched with a polyester fiber scrim layer, and the exterior surface is supported by a film; the exterior surface layer can be combined with foam and non-woven fabric to form a double-layer or three-layer composite structure. Hanwha Asta offers two types of adhesive products, using polyisocyanurate (PIR) and bio-based resins produced with renewable energy. At present, the company is working with supply chain partners to develop all-polypropylene single-material fabrics to further improve the environmental performance of the product. superLite S25 is now providing samples, evaluation and certification services. The current qualification test items cover bending performance, peak load, slope, odor, flame retardancy, recyclability and atomization characteristics, and the material supports performance expansion testing. The products are mainly targeted at the automotive field, and their application scenarios include front trunks, rear side panels, cargo floors, door trims, underbody guards, roof linings and storage boxes. Hanwha Asta has completed the trial production of multiple product prototypes: an interior trim panel made of 450 g/m2 core material with a drawing depth of 305 mm (12 inches) and a weight reduction of up to 50%; a front trunk made of 1000 g/m2 SuperLite material with a drawing depth of 280 mm; and a storage box made of 1100 g/m2 material with a drawing depth of 190 mm.
