One is the flow rate of acidic gas, around 800 cubic units; the other is the flow rate after the high-pressure water pump, around 4500 cubic units. The usual operating pressure is around 60 kilograms. The flow meter originally chosen didn’t display any readings frequently. I’m asking for suggestions on what kind of flow meter would be more accurate for measuring these values

Vortex flow meters aren’t completely unusable either; maybe you just chose one with too large a capacity.
There’s no issue with the vortex flow meter; first, identify the reason why it isn’t displaying any readings. Excessive vibration could be the factor causing the meter to fail to show readings.
I can’t find the reason right now; there’s almost no vibration, the straight sections of pipe are sufficient, and the measurement range is appropriate. There is also a flow change when tapping on the pipeline of the flow meter, but it still can’t display the flow rate accurately, especially when the flow rate is low. In any case, the management is considering choosing a different type of flow meter, so I’d like to ask everyone for advice on what type of flow meter and installation method to consider
There is no problem with using a vortex flow meter for flow measurement after a high-pressure water pump. Check: 1. The range is consistent with the design; it can be reduced, but it must remain consistent with the DCS range. 2. The installation site should have a fully filled medium with no bubbles. 3. No vibration. 4. Check the calculation sheet for the vortex flow meter: compare the accuracy curve at the minimum flow rate with the actual accuracy at low flow rates ; 5. Is there low-flow cutoff in the table header? 6. The flow meter probe is free of debris. 7. The tag number of the flow meter should match its design tag number. In some cases, even though the pipe diameter and the medium are the same during installation, the flow meter cannot be replaced arbitrarily, as parameters such as pressure and flow rate differ. If it is necessary to replace the meter, an electromagnetic flowmeter can be used if the conductivity of the water medium is good enough. It is still recommended to check the vortex flow meter for acid gas; if replacement is necessary, a Coriolis-type meter similar to ABB’s can be used. It is not recommended to replace it with a orifice plate flow meter, as changing the instrument while keeping other process conditions unchanged will result in higher pressure losses with an orifice plate compared to a vortex street meter. If high precision in acid gas flow rate is required, or if it is part of a critical interlock system, a Coriolis mass flow meter can also be considered. Hope this helps!
