We are currently designing an intermittent reaction process; since the amount of material added in each batch is too large, we have abandoned the use of metering pumps and are instead using centrifugal pumps along with mass flow meters. However, I’m not sure whether it’s possible for the mass flow meter to measure the total amount added in a single batch during an intermittent process, and then reset the flow count for the next batch. My current idea is to use the cumulative flow signal to control the shutdown of the feed pump, rather than using real-time flow control. Dear experts in instrumentation, is it possible to realize my idea of a mass flow meter?

Does the mass flow meter I bought have this configuration function?
If it is accumulating on the host computer, setting a certain condition will suffice to reset it, without the need to add any physical components

Without using DCS and PLCs, I recall that by using HighAccuracy’s 3500 series transmitters in combination with quality flow meter sensors from various series, it is possible to achieve batch measurement and control functions.
