The measured medium temperature range is 0~50°C at room temperature. Is it necessary to fill the heat transfer oil in the warm well? Is heat transfer through a liquid medium of thermal oil faster than heat transfer through the air layer between the thermometer probe and the temperature well? Thanks!
A high measurement accuracy requirement can be specified, which helps to reduce the difference from the actual temperature. If higher requirements are needed, a thermometer to measure the temperature of the core leakage can be used.
It’s just a bimetallic element that provides on-site indication; there’s no need to use such powerful anti-aircraft weapons to deal with mosquitoes. Moreover, this method of filling the system with thermal oil creates endless problems in terms of maintenance, especially since leakage issues are very difficult to resolve completely. Due to the significant vibrations at the outlets of some pumps in the factory, many shock-resistant pressure gauges were installed. These gauges have their dials sealed and equipped with silicone oil as a buffer; as a result, the frequency at which these gauges break down is lower. However, they need to be replaced more often because of silicone oil leakage and deterioration, which makes the dials dirty. Additionally, the silicone oil turns colored and cloudy, and in some cases it leaks from the gauge connections. Since no other issues are detected during inspections, these shock-resistant pressure gauges are the first to be checked. Each time such a problem is found, the bonus of the instrument maintenance worker is deducted. As a result, no one installs these gauges anymore. Sometimes, when a regular pressure gauge needs to be replaced and none are available in the warehouse, people simply use the shock-resistant gauge and remove all the silicone oil from it, haha. . .

No, a bimetallic thermometer relies on the bimetallic strip; it has nothing to do with whether there is oil present or not.
Bimetallic elements already have large errors, so filling them with oil is of little use.
There’s probably no need for that; the deviation in bimetallic materials is already quite large, so it’s better to consider things from the perspective of the instrument.
