Is it necessary to install a field bus control system in coal chemical plants?

How much more expensive is it compared to DCS of similar scale? How much is it used in domestic chemical plants?
I’m not sure exactly how much more it will cost, but I think it will be quite expensive, as the equipment on-site also needs to support bus protocol for signal transmission; overall, that makes it more costly.

Not recommended. The failure rate is too high, and failures often occur on a large scale. Moreover, reducing the number of devices on a single bus does not result in significant cost savings; on the other hand, having too many devices leads to higher system latency and an increased likelihood of failures.
I read in an internal publication a few years ago that Huizhou Shell had the largest fieldbus system in Asia at that time, with over 20,000 units of various bus devices. I haven’t heard of any issues with its operation in these past years.
