How is the material for the throttling element, flanges, and pressure tapping tubes of a throttling device determined? Is the flange material the same as that of the pipe, or is it a higher grade?
Flanges and pipes should generally be of the same grade; a higher grade is also acceptable. Throttling elements must be of a higher grade, or materials resistant to erosion should be used, with sufficient hardness ensured. The pressure tapping short tube is the same as the flange.
