One of the level gauges installed in my gasification furnace is mounted at an angle; after it has been in use for some time, the reading shown by this gauge becomes quite inaccurate. There is a flushing water system in place for this gauge, while the other two gauges, which are mounted horizontally, show almost no deviation in their readings. Please help analyze the reasons for this.

Double-flange level gauge for measuring coal slurry, with flushing water.
Should the level gauge be inserted at an angle, with the tip pointing downward or upward? Should it be of an extended type or a flat type? For water-coal slurry, it is recommended to have the gauge pointed downward. Additionally, does the slurry allow for flushing with water? If flushing is not possible, pressure buildup can occur, leading to inaccurate level measurements. For general water-coal slurry level gauges, it is recommended to use radar sensors
The pressure is too high; radar level gauges are not suitable in this case. With the probe inserted at an angle downward, could it be that the water-coal slurry is sticking to the measuring diaphragm, causing errors?
It is found that initial rinsing water should be effective to some extent.
It’s possible that air has accumulated at the inclined tube, causing inaccurate readings; the only solution is to flush it with more water for a longer period of time.
