I have a flow transmitter installed to measure the flow rate of raw coal gas, and it needs to be drained almost every day; otherwise it gets clogged. In such a situation, apart from shortening the pressure lead pipe (which is not possible under the current conditions), what other good solutions are there?
It is recommended to find an opportunity to replace it with a wedge flow meter or a non-contact type. At this point, could we consider adding a pipeline that can periodically blow nitrogen back?
By adding a pressure guide tube and a flushing tube for regular flushing, blockages can be avoided.
Can’t we add more isolation fluid tanks? Or add a flushing ring
This is due to an improper selection of the flow meter; the transmitter used with this flow meter is the type equipped with a capillary, which prevents clogging. You can’t change the gauge; add a purge to improve things. . .
Regarding the issue of blockage, it is necessary to analyze it based on specific operating conditions. It is difficult to make an accurate judgment due to the limited information you have provided. It is therefore difficult to give reasonable advice. Only by identifying the cause can a viable solution be found. Provide the necessary information: medium properties (temperature, pressure, gas phase or liquid phase, presence of impurities), instrument installation details: length of the pressure transfer tube, whether the instrument is installed higher or lower than the pressure sampling point, etc. If the instrument is installed below the pressure tapping point, considering the use of a tank to contain the isolation fluid is an option.
