I’m using a virtual machine to learn*, and I tried to change the server’s computer name. After making that change, the program could no longer be installed. Steps: 1. In My Computer properties, I changed the computer name, then saved it and restarted the computer ； 2. Use the ServerNameChg tool included with PKS to change the computer name of the PKS database, then restart it ； 3. Modify the hostname in the hosts file ； 4. Go to System in Configuration, modify Network, and reinstall it ； 5. Re-install the System on the Server, modify the Assets again, and then reinstall them ； 6. Go to Strategy Editing, start editing CEE and the controller, then attempt to download it; at this stage, the download fails, with the following warning appearing repeatedly. Below are the methods for modifying KnowledgeBuilder, along with the issues I’ve encountered; I hope experts can help resolve them.

When changing the server name in a virtual machine and modifying the network settings, such problems arise. I once changed the server name in the virtual machine: stopped the service, changed the computer name, ran servernamechg, restarted the computer, and then restarted the service; it seemed to work after that. I can’t remember that it’s necessary to change the network name as well

We have done it with version R301 here; following the manual, there were no issues. But generally, if a server needs to have its computer name changed, it is recommended to reinstall it. Honey’s official team also does not recommend modifying the name directly through software.
