I wrote an engineering and technical paper based on my work experience and submitted it to the journal \"Petroleum and Chemical Industry Automation\“. Two weeks after submission, I received a notice from the magazine requesting a payment of 800 yuan for publication. I thought I had misseen it, as it usually doesn’t take this long; I called to inquire, and it was confirmed that it had been accepted for publication and would be released in 3 months. But in the third week, I received a call from an editor at that magazine, saying that they couldn’t stand the manuscript I had written and it needed to be revised thoroughly. The tone is harsh and the attitude is terrible. I immediately felt very unlucky, probably running into an editor in a bad mood who was throwing things around. They therefore requested that the article be withdrawn and their money refunded, but the magazine office replied that it would depend on the financial timeline and that there was no certainty. Two weeks later, it showed on the website that the article had been removed, and a refund would be given after another two weeks. Two more weeks have passed and I still haven’t received the refund. When I called, they said I was missing personal information, even though I sent an email to inform them about it a week ago. I quickly checked my email and found in the spam folder an email received a week ago requesting personal identification details, account numbers, and information about the bank where the account was held. I’m really amazed – they’re so quick to accept payment, but when it’s time to refund money, they ask for your ID number. I still haven’t received a refund to this day. Disappointment, despair, regret for having made that choice! Providing the ID number wasn’t enough; during the subsequent process of requesting a refund, that company also asked me to provide scanned copies of both sides of my ID card. It’s part of their internal financial procedures, and I had no choice but to comply. Thank you for the tip from floor 28; following it accelerated things, and I finally received a refund.
