A horizontally installed mass flow meter with an oil drain pipe at the back showed a flow rate that was lower than the actual value during operation. The flow meter displays the flow rate when it is unloaded. Is there any way to improve it?

If the medium is viscous, clean the flow meter and check for vibrations and installation issues
An under-filled tube is a major concern; when the tube is not fully filled, the density of the mass flow meter changes erratically, resulting in inaccurate measurements. The improvement method involves raising the oil supply pipe at the rear above the level of the mass flow meter; if possible, make a U-shaped bend in the pipeline at the rear.

Check whether the installation method is correct. Here, the medium used for gas measurement contains very little water; it is installed horizontally with the measurement tube (sensor) positioned at the bottom. Flow is indicated when there is an excess amount of fluid, so we just need to install the measurement tube at the top
Close the valves before and after the flow meter, and check whether the reading is zero. If not, it is experiencing zero drift, and the zero point needs to be recalibrated on-site. If the flow rate fluctuates greatly, as mentioned above, the pipes downstream may not be filled properly due to suction, and adjustments need to be made.
