Now, after delivery, they say that controlling the burner is not within their scope of responsibility (they are also unable to handle the control system), and another manufacturer needs to be involved. After contacting various parties, we found that they are all controlled by independent PLCs. However, my company has a relatively complex overall process system, for which an Allen-Bradley DCS system has been purchased for control purposes. A separate PLC can be used to control it and communicate with Hollyland. It won’t cost much money. Of course, it’s also possible to expand the existing system, but the integration of modifications and debugging needs to be taken into consideration.
If the process of this fuel boiler is well understood, relevant operating parameters are available, and all protective measures are in place, then using DCS for control is not a problem. What users are most concerned about is still the investment cost of PLCs and DCS. Technically, it shouldn’t be a problem; system manufacturers are capable of carrying out DCS expansion upgrades or installing PLCs.
