Alternatively, a switch could be installed to stop further feeding once the foam reaches a certain thickness. I have indeed seen one of these devices; it was used by Outotec for mineral processing purposes. It seems to involve several special cameras that continuously capture images, and then software is used to measure the amount and thickness of the foam, allowing adjustments to be made to the feed rate.
