Today, technology discussed a issue with me, and I would like to ask the experts here: when there is a viscous medium in the reaction vessel, continuous feeding can result in the formation of foam. However, too much foam can affect the reaction process, so it’s necessary to use defoamers. Alternatively, a switch could be installed to stop further feeding once the foam reaches a certain thickness. I’m wondering if there are any good level sensors or solutions available to measure the thickness of the foam The medium in this reactor can be measured; there is a level gauge available in Cologne that you could try out.

I have indeed seen one of these devices; it was used by Outotec for mineral processing purposes. It seems to involve several special cameras that continuously capture images, and then software is used to measure the amount and thickness of the foam, allowing adjustments to be made to the feed rate.
