Source of values for setting alarm thresholds

Regarding the alarms in current installations, aside from those related to toxic and flammable gases as well as interlocks for which specific standards exist, the interlocks on our equipment may be required by the equipment manufacturers to be set up in a certain way. But where do people generally get the set values for the process alarms? The original process design documents? What are the requirements for self-analysis of the process? Set the process parameters by yourself?
The specific fixed values for HH, H, SⅤ, L, LL at all control points in our company are specified in a separate process control specification document. The method formulation is primarily based on process requirements, instrument accuracy needs, as well as controlling fluctuations in light of actual production conditions.
Specific specifications, equipment requirements, production environment
The interlock values for the equipment itself are generally provided by the equipment manufacturer, while the process interlock values are provided by the design agency; of course, both sets of values must undergo joint review by all three parties
In which document is usually indicated the design unit that provided this?
The process alarm values are proposed by the process patent holder or designer; after the unit is put into operation, they are suggested by the unit’s process engineer, and once approved by the production department, they are implemented.
