Do combustible and toxic fixed gas detectors need to be equipped with audible and visual alarms? What standards should be followed?
In accordance with GB50493-2009 \"Code for Design of Detection and Alarm Systems for Flammable and Toxic Gases in Petrochemical Industries\", audible and visual alarms are required on-site, and the alarm signals must be transmitted to a duty room or control room where personnel are on duty.
GB50493-2009 \"Code for Design of Detection and Alarm Systems for Flammable and Toxic Gases in Petrochemical Industries\" – that’s the only standard. Also refer to Document No. 116
But GB50493-2009 does not specify that the probe must be equipped with an acoustic and optical alarm, right?
Toxic gases must be carried, while combustible gases can be detected via the central control system.
The regulations require that an alarm be triggered on-site in such cases
The probe can be supplied without an alarm, but an alarm must be installed on-site; please read the specifications carefully.
It is clearly stated in GB50493-2009; please read carefully the requirements in clause 3.0.4. Of course, it does not specify that an audio-visual alarm is necessary – an audible alarm can be used instead
For safety reasons, both toxic and flammable gas detectors on site must be equipped with audible and visual alarms
The probe itself does not come with it; it is the controller mounted on top of the probe that provides audible and visual alarms.
