For the 2 input wires and 2 feedback wires, which terminals should they be connected to? It’s all 4–20 mA
This post was last edited by pyqppp on 2018-9-6 at 13:16. Enter the two-wire connection: 3+, 8- (with 5 and 6 shorted together); Feedback two-wire connection: 61+, 62-
Valve position feedback? Valve position feedback is the output signal of another valve position transmitter; it is not on the positioner.
Feedback is connected to 61 and 62; DCS power distribution is required. We also need to check if your locator has a feedback module
There are two ways to connect a two-wire system; check the specific model of your locator. One method uses 3+8, and the other uses 6+8-
Figure 9 shows the explosion-proof two-wire connection, while Figure 10 shows the non-explosion-proof connection; the screenshots were taken incorrectly
Siemens positioners can be equipped with a feedback module, eliminating the need for an additional position feedback unit.
The 2nd floor is correct. But feedback requires DCS power distribution
It shouldn’t be powered by DCS; in fact, it shouldn’t be powered at all – the locator has its own power supply
If DCS power distribution is required, connecting it in a four-wire system is likely to result in no signal
Our factory has hundreds of Siemens positioners, both explosion-proof and non-explosion-proof; all of them require power supply for feedback. Please read the instructions carefully before installation – the cabinet must provide active power to the positioners in order for feedback to be possible.
