Should valves below DN100 be equipped with an ASCO 1/4 pneumatic solenoid valve, and valves above DN150 with an ASCO 1/2 pneumatic solenoid valve?
This depends on whether the valve is required to open or close quickly; for valves with large diameters (and generally larger cylinders), quick opening is necessary. An electromagnetic valve with a 1/4 size is used to drive a pneumatic booster, and the booster is connected to a valve with a 1/2 size or smaller, so as to meet the requirements regarding the opening time. If fast shutdown is required, a 1/4 size solenoid valve will suffice, and a quick exhaust block can be added as well.
This depends on the size of the cylinder and the duration for which the valve is opened or closed
