It is impossible to prepare an IO inventory and instrument data sheet based solely on the PID diagram; other process-related documents must also be taken into account. Because PID diagrams cannot cover all the information. What is an IO inventory?

AI typically refers to field instruments such as temperature transmitters and pressure transmitters, while AO usually refers to control valves. An I/O table should indicate the instrument tag number, the type of I/O, the address of the card channel or its location in the cabinet, as well as the range, alarm, and interlock values. It is the key data for designing DCS
The IO inventory lists all the measurement points connected to the DCS, power distribution units, and other accessories
This depends on the depth of the PID; if the process parameters for each instrument in the PID are provided, it is entirely possible to determine the number of IO points and to select the appropriate instruments as well as define their data specifications
