What does a chemical chain store mean? What is its purpose?
A certain value is linked to another control factor that determines its variation; it shuts down automatically once it exceeds a preset dangerous level.
In other words, when valve A is opened, valve B must be closed; A and B are interlocked. Valves can not only be interlocked with each other, but also form complex control systems together with pressure sensors, level transmitters, temperature sensors, and so on. I agree with the person above; in the section on safety, experts have just explained that interlocking requires an action of either turning on or turning off. If there is no such action, then it’s merely regulatory control, and it cannot be called interlocking
