For light oils whose temperature exceeds the normal operating range of the transmitter, what type of transmitter should be used? Should I choose a regular transmitter or a flanged transmitter?
A regular transmitter will do; just add a radiator or a condenser coil.
Personally, I would recommend using a regular transmitter; if the temperature is high, the silicone oil in flanged transmitters cannot withstand such high temperatures. Regular transmitters have pressure transfer tubes, so the actual temperature at the transmitter does not exceed its normal operating temperature. Of course, I'm talking about the general case. It’s best if you specify what medium it is and at what temperature, by providing all the details so that a comprehensive assessment can be made
Flange transmitters have a maximum operating temperature of 400°C and are quite expensive; it is recommended to use ordinary transmitters for cooling purposes.
First, it is necessary to know the temperature and pressure ranges of the medium being measured, as these determine the appropriate selection. For high-temperature media, capillary flange transmitters are generally used, and the transmitter catalog includes models suitable for different medium temperatures; one can choose the appropriate model based on the temperature range of the medium being measured. The only difference lies in the price. I have worked with media at 130 degrees Celsius, and in such cases I used EJA capillary flange differential pressure transmitters to measure the liquid level, and the results were satisfactory.
Use a condensation ring or something to lower the temperature.
If the temperature is high, it is recommended to use a conventional pressure transmitter along with a condensation tank; when the temperature difference is not significant, a flanged type can be used. The specific choice depends on comparing the temperature of the medium with the physical properties of the filling fluids such as silicone oil in the capillaries of flanged transmitters. Personally, I think that for light oils, conventional transmitters offer better cost-performance
