The difference between digital signals and analog signals
Digital signals transmit binary values
An analog signal is a linear current or linear voltage, such as 4–20 mA, or 0–5 V. A digital signal is nothing but encoding – it’s data that is encoded using the level of voltage or current. You don’t need to worry about how to write programs or how to program chips; if it’s easy to learn, then go and learn how to issue commands, receive data, decode it, and convert the data into decimal form. If it’s not easy to learn, then buy a small device or some kind of upper-level software – just press a few buttons and it’ll work.
