Zero gas for the analyzer

One day, my supervisor asked me if it was possible to use nitrogen with a purity of 99.999% instead of pure nitrogen as the zero-point gas for the analyzer Can 99% nitrogen be used? I have no way to answer
PPM denotes the mass of solute contained in one million units of solution; the value expressed as a fraction per million is what is referred to as PPM. 99.99% corresponds to several PPM. I assume you are asking what the oxygen content is in PPM. Typically, 99.99% is called liquid nitrogen with four 9s; it constitutes pure nitrogen. High-purity nitrogen refers to 99.999%, while 99.9% is considered crude nitrogen. A standard where the oxygen content is 50 PPM or less corresponds to 99.99%
I mean, why is the zero gas for the analyzer 99.999% nitrogen? Can 99% nitrogen be used?
It depends on the range and units measured by your analyzer; if it measures concentration in %, then it can be used. If it’s in PPm units, that won’t work; the error is too large.
