Can the SIS system configure remote IO stations on-site to communicate with the control room via the Profibus bus? Is it still necessary to use hardwired connections to run from the field instruments directly to the control room?

I haven’t checked the specifications, but I think it should be possible to place both the controller and the IO devices on-site. If only the IO devices are placed on-site, using Profibus for communication is a bit inadequate – it’s too prone to failures.
Is the SIS on site yours from Siemens? 300F or 400FH; if not, I don’t understand why you would choose Profibus. Generally, SIS manufacturers have their own solutions for remote fiber optic IO stations
The control room and the cabinet room are usually located next to each other. The cabinet room is used to house the cabinets for the DCS system and the SIS system; the field instrumentation of the SIS system is connected to the SIS cabinets via wired connections. The SIS system and the DCS system are connected through communication links, and the data from the SIS system can be monitored using the operation station of the DCS system.

Is there an emergency stop button or something in the control room? A set of remote IO cabinets can be added next to it. The TCS-900 system used by us from Zhejiang University’s Control Systems Department features a triple-redundancy structure for secure network communication (that’s what they say); two sets of remote IO cabinets can be added, with each set capable of handling up to 320 points. And when it comes to communication between the SIS system and other devices, can those other devices only read SIS data and not write to it? ?
