An online infrared thermometer has been installed on site to measure the surface (metal) temperature of rotating equipment. Near high-power motors, false alarms occur frequently, with alerts coming every 1–2 hours in an irregular manner. The use of walkie-talkies in the vicinity also causes false alarms; although a different thermometer has been replaced, the problem persists. Do any of you have any suggestions on how to eliminate these interference issues, or can you recommend any probes that are more resistant to interference?
You can only consult the manufacturer for this; if an estimate cannot be provided, then you’ll need to find a product with stronger interference resistance, such as those from Fluke.
