For a recent project, the client required that the automatic valves be electric valves; however, the contract specified single-acting electric valves, meaning that the valves should be able to automatically return to an open/closed position when the power is cut off. Only some imported actuators can achieve this functionality – can domestic ones do it as well?
To enable this function in an electric valve, a UPS would need to be added, I guess: lol
It shuts down automatically when power is cut off; wouldn’t that cause the motor to rotate in the reverse direction uncontrollably, which surely has an impact on the motor? Unless there is a trip mechanism that disconnects the valve from the motor shaft when power is lost, and connects it again when power is restored, but why go through such complexity? Just use a solenoid valve instead.
Why not use a pneumatic valve for this requirement? It’s very simple to implement.

Single-acting and double-acting types are generally applicable to pneumatic actuators; when an electric valve loses power, it usually maintains its current opening position and does not automatically return to an on/off state.
I really have never seen an electric actuator that can still function in the event of a power outage; our factory doesn’t have any such ones at the moment
I too feel utterly desperate now; the contract is already signed like this, and I’ve contacted all possible suppliers, yet I haven’t found a single one who can meet my requirements
The suppliers signed the supply contracts without even understanding the technical requirements; such behavior is nothing short of irresponsible towards the client! ... ... Get a custom version with a clutch and springs added! :lol
