Our facility has been rated as SIL2 and SIL1 – is it still necessary to distinguish between the field instruments used? Please advise, experts
Of course, if possible, for SIL2 circuits, it is advisable to choose instruments whose certification confirms that they can be used in SIL2 applications. In the case of SIL1 certification, a voting structure of 1oo3 or 2OO3 is often required, which makes it easier to meet the specifications during verification.
