Working in the instrumentation department is too tough; it’s fine when you work with managers who understand the field, but when dealing with those who don’t, it’s impossible to explain things clearly no matter how many times you try. Working with instruments in a factory really means taking the blame all the time; what should I do, or are there any ways to deal with this? And how should principle-based control be carried out? Or is there any way to shift the blame from others onto me and then pass it on to someone else? It’s so hard for me. :Q: I’ve been in this field for only 3 years and don’t understand much; it seems like the instruments aren’t given enough attention.

When the process parameters aren’t meeting requirements, it’s blamed on the instruments; when the equipment gets damaged, it’s still the instruments to blame. The most ridiculous thing is that even electrical control issues are attributed to the instruments… Keep a cool head; don’t talk nonsense with your supervisors unless necessary. When problems arise, focus on solving them within your area of expertise. If there are no issues in that area, then firmly state that the instruments are fine or that it’s not an instrument-related problem – let whoever else wants to take responsibility do so. It’s better to avoid hanging around the managers too much; focus more on inspections and checks to reduce the likelihood of instrument failures… If there are issues with the instruments, they need to be resolved promptly. You can take the blame for your supervisor, but not for other departments – please be aware of this! ! Shifting blame is easy – insisting that the watch is faulty is straightforward. But I can replace it for you, or I can have it checked, and it’s definitely not faulty.

It’s the same in all electrical instrumentation-related fields – there are no easy jobs to do. If your professional skills are strong enough, managers will be willing to listen to your explanations and things will be easier; otherwise, it gets difficult
It is essential to study professional knowledge thoroughly; only then can one have the confidence to handle situations where responsibilities are shirked, and be sure that one’s own work is error-free, allowing other specialists to take care of the rest.

A veteran in the field of instrumentation once joked that when discussing issues related to manufacturing processes, one should use knowledge of those processes to criticize them thoroughly; only then is your understanding of instrumentation adequate. Of course, you need to have thorough expertise in instrumentation; you must be proficient in every aspect, from selection and materials to on-site management, technical management, and safety management.
I don’t quite understand what you mean. By “the device can handle everything,” do you mean it can be used for various processes and with different equipment?
