In the past we have used pipe-type flowmeters, which worked well, but this time the design team has specified flange-mounted type flowmeters. Could those who are more experienced tell us what the advantages and disadvantages are of pipe-type and flange-mounted flowmeters in terms of price, suitability (pressure, vibration, etc.), installation requirements, and maintenance? It’s inexpensive, easy to install, and has decent adaptability to conditions such as pressure and vibration. However, it requires high standards during installation, is simple to maintain and disassemble later on, but installation is somewhat difficult; its long-term operational stability and precision are still inferior to those of pipe-type systems.
Have the design institute change it to a flange type. Clamped connections are not recommended for small and medium pipe diameters nowadays

The main advantage is the lower cost of the clamp-type versions; manufacturers of pipe-type versions earn more profits. It’s not clear whether design institutes adopt a general contracting approach. But you can think about it this way: what is the difference in stability between ordinary orifice plates and integrated orifice plates? Orifice plates that can be used for balancing purposes can also be used in other situations. The difference lies in what manufacturers refer to as the required straight pipe section length and pressure loss.
