Question: Generally, double-flange differential pressure transmitters installed on equipment are mounted side by side. Why isn’t top-bottom mounting used? What are the disadvantages of installing them on the top and bottom of a spherical tank?
It can be installed at the top or bottom, but it is not possible to install measuring instruments at the bottom of most storage tanks, unless it is a spherical tank
For any diaphragm-type measuring instrument, it is necessary to prevent sediment in the material from falling or accumulating on the surface of the diaphragm. Therefore, to install the diaphragm at the bottom, a space for accommodating sediment must be provided. Even if a space for settling solids is provided, issues such as waste discharge arise in this space as well. Therefore, try not to place the diaphragm at the very bottom of the container. In fact, all instrument sampling ports should be avoided at the lowest part of the equipment. .
