As the title suggests, a storage tank is equipped with a safety instrumented system that uses two pressure sensors and one weight sensor for 2OO3 protection. However, the two pressure sensors are connected to the same pressure tap, and a tee is used to connect the two transmitters. Is this in compliance with the regulations? If there are any specifications, please let me know which ones/standards, so I can check them as well. :handshake

It is necessary to check the SIL rating; if it is below level 2, it is not absolutely prohibited according to the specifications.
Do we still need to ask the standards about this issue? Based on the physical properties and cleanliness of the stored material, consider whether the pressure tapping hole on the tank might get clogged or freeze up or something; that’s all there is to it If there is no risk of pipe blockage or freezing, then opening 2 ports on the tank to install 2 pipes for pressure measurement, and using a couple of 2-ball valves, doesn’t that create an additional point of leakage? Then, wouldn’t that make it even less safe due to the increased risk associated with those containers? Even for passing gas, one has to ask about the rules – I’m really stunned. They even regulate something as trivial as passing gas; making up reasons based on so-called common causes and effects – it’s really confusing.
Indeed, with pressure tapping ports, there are risks such as pipe blockage and freezing. So if two ports are used for taking pressure readings, the probability of either port failing is the same. It’s possible that the pressure tap used by your safety instrument system has already become blocked or frozen. :Lol, so by using 2 ports for pressure measurement and 2 pipes with 2 balls, it still doesn’t increase safety! . . It’s all about wasting money and mental energy on pointless things; it’s better to focus on ways to arrange the pipes and manage pressure, so as to **reduce the risk of pipe blockages and freezing.** That’s what really matters.
Just measure the pressure, pee a little – if the urine splits, that’s simple enough; there’s no need to go through the hassle of using two test strips. Ugh! I’m stupid. I can’t understand it. :lol
