Another option is to use an electromagnetic flowmeter with an internal reduction. Which approach is more reasonable?
For reduced-diameter applications, special electromagnetic flowmeters are required, and their prices are quite high. It is necessary to leave a straight pipe section that is at least 10 times longer than the reduced diameter portion of the pipe; otherwise, the flow measurement will be inaccurate. You can calculate the costs based on the specific conditions on site, or if you don’t want any hassle, you can simply replace the flowmeter

Generally, the pipe sizes are in different diameters, with sufficient straight pipe sections provided. Receding necks are rare unless it’s for small diameters like 3mm or 5mm
The cost of using a retracted neck is too high; it’s better to use a conversion fitting along with a welded connection piece, which is more convenient to use
